🧾 GDS to MTS Exam Pattern 2025

The exam has one paper with a total of 50 questions and a time limit of 60 minutes. The paper is divided into two parts:

This part will have 30 questions, each carrying 2 marks. Topics include:

Focus on understanding real-life postal duties and rules:

  • Organization of the Department
  • Types of Post Offices (BO, SO, HO)
  • Business Hours and Mail Timings
  • Payment of Postage, Stamps, and Stationery
  • General Rules for Packing, Sealing, and Posting
  • Addressing Methods
  • Use of Post Boxes and Post Bags
  • Duties of the Letter Box Peon
  • Handling Official Postal Articles
  • Prohibited Postal Items (what cannot be sent)
